I picked up this notion from a book that I am currently reading. What an amazing analogy! It’s basically saying that you as a candle burn with light. You should always be willing to share your flame because sharing has no effect on your own flame but you should never give away your wax. The more wax you give, the more you diminish.
Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.
Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.
And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life, your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy;
And you would accept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields.
And you would watch with serenity through the winters of your grief.
Much of your pain is self-chosen.
It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self.
Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquillity:
For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by the tender hand of the Unseen,
And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has moistened with His own sacred tears.
I believe that everyone was created for a beautiful purpose. There are many people that don’t understand that purpose that they pose in life. I want to see the beauty in everything as well as making people realise that they are special and that they are loved. Even if they feel abandoned, deserted and depressed – I want to make them realise that they are not on this earth for no reason. So today, that is what I will do…
Today is Monday (my favourite day of the week… Not!). To start the week, I am going to keep commitment in mind. Commitment to any task that I set out to do. No more procrastinating! Even if it’s hard, I’m going to stick at it. This is something I will practice throughout the week – as well as kindness and peace.
Have a blessed day!
Yesterday, I practiced kindness and I am still continuing that practice. I was very joyful when people reciprocated it back. Kindness comes naturally to me – so it wasn’t really difficult. I simply treat people how I want to be treated. You can never lose that way.
Today I am practicing peace.
Being internally peaceful is something that we can all achieve. Even when the outside is stormy, even when everything is in chaos, choosing how you respond by not violently resisting will produce fruitful responses.
I am going to keep in mind that if I am going through a hard time at work, that I can control how I respond to any situation that arises.
Have a blessed day!!
