These are my favourite products for the month of December 2014!

Mac Lightful Marine Bright Formula Serum

Trust me when I say that this serum is awesome! I’m not really great with giving reviews on products but It has an instant effect on the face – making it appear smooth from the outset. The texture of my skin has definitely changed after using this for a few days.

Mac Lightful Marine Bright Formula Moisture Creme

The same can be said for this product. When I started using this my skin appeared so smooth the very next day. This is definitely my HG product. It is a little pricey but it is totally worth it for what you get.

Cha Cha Tint by Benefit Cosmetics

This tinted blusher is the best colour for my darker skin tone. It gives a very natural flush of colour on the cheeks. I have an extensive collection of blushes – this is by far my favourite!

Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle

Only started using this a couple of weeks ago but it is already my favourite highlighter. It is quite pigmented so I only need to use a little. I find that it is perfect if you contour your face for those extra made up days.

Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Perfume 15ml

This will always be my favourite perfume. It’s going to be my favourite in January I’m sure of it.

Body Shop Leona Lewis Blush Brush (discontinued)

I slept on this brush. I got it a very long time ago in the Body Shop sale but because of the vast amount of brushes that I have, I neglected using it. I have found that It gives the perfect application that you need when applying product to the cheeks.

Mac Pro Longwear in NC45

I never thought that I would ever find a Mac foundation that I actually liked. I tried Studio Fix, Face and Body foundation and even Match Master foundation but when I say that this foundation suits me to a T. I am so happy that I saw that review on YouTube about this foundation because it made me actually go to the MAC store to test it out. I was impressed with the results of the application and the staying power that it possesses.

Mac Lip Conditioner

My lips get really dry throughout the day. I tried this little beauty and I was not disappointed! This lip conditioner truly conditions your lips. The more that you use it, the less you have to use it overall. It is quite pricey but I would definitely get it again if I had to.

Ben Nye Banana Powder

I had a bit of mixed reviews on this product initially but as soon as I found the correct way to apply this – it gave my skin a flawless finish. It is worth all the hype fortunately.

Lush Vanillary Solid Perfume

This is my favourite natural perfume from Lush. You can literally be creative with it. Put it in your hair, your pulse points – anywhere that can do with a gust of vanilla fragrance.

Bristle Hairbrush (from any beauty supply store)

Make up is a girl’s best friend

I love make up! What girl doesn’t?
I started wearing make up when I was 15 and haven’t stopped ever since.

My favourite thing about make up is that you can add interesting colours to your face which result in different looks – according to your preference and mood. My key make up favourites are blusher mascara and eyeliner.

I love how blusher can add a dimension to the cheekbones. I often go for blatantly bright colours rather than subtle colours. Contouring can also change the structure of the face in a great way.

Mascara is absolutely fantastic in drawing attention to the windows of the soul. I cannot live without it. I am simply addicted to carbon black mascara for lengthening my lashes.

Eyeliner is another thing that can add intense drama to the eyes. Mainly for the night life but can also translate into the day if you’re daring.

I prefer lipgloss to lipstick because I feel too made up when I wear lipstick. I prefer the subtleties of lipgloss than the drama of lipstick (plus I have really full lips).

The worse thing about makeup is when it cakes or when it runs e.g. Mascara and eyeliner when you’re crying.

My favourite brands are the Body Shop selection because they mainly have natural products that do not irritate my very sensitive skin. I love Urban Decay’s eyeshadow palettes and primers. I used to be a MAC fan but after the trouble it wreaked on my skin, I have stopped using their foundation for now.

I definitely want to be more experimental with make up in the future.

I love Monochrome …

I love Monochrome ...

There is something classic about Black and white. I really like how it can simplify something as complex (albeit beautiful) as colour. I tend to tweak my photos to monochrome when I’m not feeling the colour scheme or if I want to add a timeless classic feel to the picture.

The Classic Plait

Plaits never get old. The style has lasted the test of time and continues to be one of my favourite hairstyles. I find that there is something medieval about braiding the hair… sounds weird but it is most certainly true. I love the complexity and the simplicity of the style. I am currently sporting microbraids with a solo braid. I find that the plait looks better when it looks a bit messy – as if you really didn’t care about your hair. There are some good examples of this (this also means that people who are not so good at it, can excuse the mess as a stylistic statement). Happy Days!
