To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.
To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you.”
— Christian D. Larson
Why do we hide?
Why do we put our guard up?
It’s the only way that we protect ourselves from the darkness.
You know the story… You put those emotional walls up against intruders and people that want to look deep inside you. Their intention is unknown at that point. They look for your valuables or anything that is enticing to them and they try to worm their way in.
They will either break in forcefully – at this point you may use your defences to protect yourself. They may be more manipulative in their approach and they may slyly gain your attention by using more covert means.
Once they are in, they will act as though they are your friends but they are really not. You may have let them in… they may have been sweet to you and then BAM! They’ve got you! You want to die….
This sounds dramatic ….
“I ask the impossible: love me forever.
Love me when all desire is gone.
Love me with the single mindedness of a monk.
When the world in its entirety,
and all that you hold sacred advise you
against it: love me still more.
When rage fills you and has no name: love me.
When each step from your door to our job tires you–
love me; and from job to home again, love me, love me.
Love me when you’re bored–
when every woman you see is more beautiful than the last,
or more pathetic, love me as you always have:
not as admirer or judge, but with
the compassion you save for yourself
in your solitude.
Love me as you relish your loneliness,
the anticipation of your death,
mysteries of the flesh, as it tears and mends.
Love me as your most treasured childhood memory–
and if there is none to recall–
imagine one, place me there with you.
Love me withered as you loved me new.
Love me as if I were forever–
and I, will make the impossible
a simple act,
by loving you, loving you as I do”
— Ana Castillo
“But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at noon hour and meditate love’s ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise on your lips.”
— Kahlil Gibran
This was a spontaneous playful shoot that occurred whilst getting ready on a night out on mother’s day.
Love = Verb
It is an acting word… not a feeling
It has been said that if the world was more loving, there would be less evil in the world.
Jesus is the perfect example of love… and my aim to be just like Him.
If you remember that love is just not a feeling but something which you do in action, it will dispel the myth that somehow it is something that you must feel which then inclines for you to act.
If I do every action in love, then I will have fulfilled my life goal. This is better than anything monetary or material
Mr Timberlake has done it again! This album is such a grower… The first time that I listened to the album, I was gripped but it wasn’t like WOW! (like the second album) but the more that I listened to the songs (and boy the songs are long!), I found myself becoming more and more engrossed – addicted.
You would think that with only 10 songs that the album run would be rather quick but that is quite the contrary. In fact, the album is very wholesome in that the average length of a song is 8mins which is great for me!
It is also definitely a more soulful album than I expected (which is great). JT hasn’t sold out like some artists out there and I think this may be my spring favourite.
My favourite songs are Mirrors and Pusher Love Girl at the moment *but it changes daily.
I give the album 4/5
I’ve recently got back into reading again and I have never been so engrossed in a book as I have with this one. The author had gripped me from start to finish and I tell you, it is very rare for that to happen (especially to me).
I am not going to go into details abou the book but if you like a lot of twists and turns and being gripped to the edge of your seat, this book is for you. I read the whole book in less than 12 hours – it was THAT good.
I give the book five starts 5/5 *****
